There are so many different ways in which you can spice up your lunch and dinner meals. One great way to do so is by adding a vegetable side dish. Personally, I am a big fan of putting chicken, meat or fish on the grill and then serve it with some kind of potatoes, sauce and vegetables. When creating a dish, vegetables are what adds color to your plate and there are so many different ways to cook it and many vegetables to choose from. So be creative! Below are some of my favorite side dishes that I love have when putting something on the grill.
First, this is a classic and easy side dish. Tomatoes, avocado and burrata cheese. Feel free to spice it up even more by adding olive oil, balsamic vinegar, fresh basil, salt and pepper. This side dish is so simple and a safe choice if you are having dinner guests. Everyone will love it!
Ingredients:
Burrata cheese
Avocado
Cherry tomatoes
Fresh basil
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Salt & Pepper
Then, one of my favorite things to have as a side dish is a plain arugula salad with parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. If you want to, add some grated broccoli for some extra flavor. So easy; yet, so delicious.
Ingredients:
Arugula
Broccoli
Parmesan cheese
Olive oil
Salt & Pepper
Another flavorful side dish, especially during the summer, is this side salad with cantaloupe melon. Wow, it is tasty! Pick your favorite lettuce, I am a big fan of using a spring mix or arugula, then top it with mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes and avocado. If you want, add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Yes, you could add the melon into the side salad; however, I would recommend having it on the side if you choose to add olive oil and balsamic vinegar to the salad. This is the perfect side salad to your summer barbeque, or winter barbeque if you love it and do it all year around;)
Ingredients:
Spring mix/arugula
Mozzarella cheese
Cherry tomatoes
Avocado
Cantaloupe melon
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Salt & Pepper
This last one is one of my favorite side dishes for sure and you could even make into a salad, a main course, and then serve with your choice of protein on the side. It includes, arugula, grilled corn, cooked broccoli, bacon, olive oil, salt and pepper. To make it even tastier, once the corn on the cob is grilled, add some butter and salt to it right away before mixing it into the salad. It will give an amazing taste to both the corn and the salad!
Ingredients:
Arugula
Sautéed broccoli
Grilled corn on the cob
Bacon
Butter
Olive oil
Salt & Pepper
Enjoy!
